Join Northern CAOMS for our fall hybrid membership meeting on October 26th. We will be meeting in person at the Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired in San Francisco and via Zoom for those of you that can’t make it in person. We have some exciting things in store that we’d love you to join us for. First, join us from 10-11am and earn a CEU for an interactive workshop, O&M Show and Tell: Lesson Idea Exchange (see workshop description below). From 11-1pm we will hold our membership meeting. Please come and help us decide where to hold our 2025 NCAOMS conference.

Honestly, my best lessons have come from other O&Ms in the field who have been generous enough to share their ideas with me. Scavenger hunts and bus trips to favorite bakeries are classic standbys, but do you ever feel like your lessons are getting a bit stale and you could use a creative refresh?
Spend an hour in a group with your O&M peers to exchange ideas. Bring 1-2 of your favorite lesson ideas to share and a way to take notes. Do you have a lesson that you are proud of or has been particularly effective? All O&M skill areas and levels are game: spatial concepts, mapping, cardinal directions, route planning, self-advocacy, street crossings, etc. Feel free to bring pictures, materials and lesson plans.
