Details: The Northern Chapter of the California Association of Orientation and Mobility Specialists (CAOMS) is proud to host the 2021 CAOMS Statewide Conference, 'Going the Distance: Celebrating How Creative We Are'.

Each inspiring presentation will be available live via Zoom, and most will be recorded and available on-demand with CEUs through the end of 2021. Presentations include:

  • Indoor Navigation Advancements

  • O&M Street Crossing

  • Thinking Beyond "Textbook O&M"

  • What’s in Your Assessment Toolbox? The Latest and Greatest for ECC (including O&M!) Evaluation

  • Reinforcement Gamified Learning with Apps for Students from Pre-K to High School

  • Building a Business with a Disability

  • Transition to Independence: A New Grant Supported O&M Project

  • Let My Children Go: Advocating for Community-Based O&M in the School System [Live ONLY per presenter's request]

  • Teaching O&M during a Pandemic

  • Smart White Cane for the blind

  • Non-Visual Digital Maps

  • Building a Culture of Consent in the Field of O&M: Lessons Learned from a Sex Education

*While initially designed as a hybrid in-person and virtual conference, CAOMS has decided to move the 2021 conference to 100% on-line in an abundance of caution and with everyone's health and well-being in mind due to COVID-19 conditions across the nation in September of 2021.
